Complete Special Spirit Companion Guide Rewards and Choices
#Hey everyone, This time, I'll take you on a journey to meet all the special spirits in the game and uncover the rewards they offer. After helping each spirit, you'll have the option to chat and then, well, "deal with them." However, a word to the wise: if you want a hefty bonus of 100 Luminous Dust, it's best not to defeat any of them, at least not until you've secured that final prize from a certain spirit. Of course, if you're really itching for a fight, you can always come back after getting the grand reward; you'll still get their defeat drops.
Let's get started on this spirit-seeking adventure!
The Jar Spirit
- Location: You'll bump into this one during the main quest in the "Wilderness" in Chapter 1. No way to miss it.
- Help Reward: Healing Vial capacity +1.
- Defeat Drop: 3 Fluorescent Dust, 1 Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: Chat with it to learn it's looking for "Guangguang." This missing item is easily found in the next area. Grab the resin, return it, then take aim and shoot its weapon. Job done.
Thunderling
- Location: A hidden spirit in the "Fleeting Flow" region.
- Help Reward: Lu Nian's weapon, "Thunderclap." It's decent for early to mid-game against thunder-weak foes but isn't end-game material, so don't over-invest.
- Defeat Drop: 3 Fluorescent Dust, 1 Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: Start from the "Nok's Cabin" flag in the Fleeting Flow area and explore thoroughly. Once found, you don't need to talk first. Perform a specific jumping sequence (scout the nearby platforms) to get the quest item, then return and hand it over for the Thunderclap.
Small Sprout Cluster
- Location: Near the "Ancient Sanctuary" in the starting region.
- Help Reward: 1 Luminous Dust.
- Defeat Drop: 5 Luminous Dust, 1 Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: You'll see a small sprout. Talk to it, and it'll ask for the flesh of other sprout creatures to grow. As you progress normally, defeating any sprout creature will yield the "Sprout Flesh" quest item. Return, submit the item, wait a bit (re-entering the area usually does the trick), and it'll grow larger. Talk to it again for your reward.
Prayer Spirit
- Location: In the mangrove forest of the initial region, at a distinct spot.
- Help Reward: "Recovery" Rune (restores 10% of vitality at the start of each turn).
- Defeat Drop: 3 Fluorescent Dust, 1 Ornate Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: You'll find a bowl in the mangrove forest. Interact with it; you'll need to offer a total of 90,000 Hues (in installments). Once fully paid, it will emerge and give you the rune.
Hexagonal Snake
- Location: In the "Tidal Cave" within the "Set-Tooth" region.
- Help Reward: "Auto-Sheath" Rune (gain this buff automatically at the start of combat).
- Defeat Drop: 3 Fluorescent Dust, 1 Fine Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: From a particular viewpoint in the Tidal Cave, look back, and you'll spot it. It needs three glowing stones. These are easy to find within the dark Tidal Cave because, well, they glow! Collect all three, return, and it'll emerge, dropping the rune.
Trumpeter
- Location: In the "Quarry" area on the second continent.
- Help Reward: "Healing Parry" Utility Rune (recover 3% vitality on each parry).
- Defeat Drop: 1 Dazzling Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: Find it and chat, then get ready for a mini-game. Parry the musical notes it plays at the right time to win the rune.
Goalkeeper
- Location: At a specific spot in the "Mystic Ruins."
- Help Reward: "Protective Healing" Rune.
- Defeat Drop: 3 Fluorescent Dust, 1 Fine Catalytic Hue.
- How to Help: No need to talk to it first. Explore the vicinity (this might involve some platforming or light puzzle-solving) to find a quest item. Once you have it, return to the Goalkeeper and submit it for the rune.
Fighter
- Location: Found at a specific coordinate "in the sky."
- Crucial Tip: After helping this spirit, DO NOT talk to it immediately! Doing so triggers a choice that might make you miss the reward or force you to defeat it.
- How to Help (for the reward): Find it among a pile of corpses. Talk to it, choose a weapon for it, and a battle will commence automatically in a castle. After the fight, absolutely do not interact with it. Wait until you've completed the "Subai" spirit's questline later on. Then, return to help this spirit find peace, and you'll receive the "Auto-Empower" Rune.
- Bad Outcomes: Refusing to help or talking to it improperly after the fight can result in no reward or count as a defeat.
Pure White
- Location: At the "Fountain" on the map – very easy to spot.
- Reward/Encounter: This spirit's reaction depends on your actions throughout the game.
- Friendly Path: If you've helped at least 5 spirits and defeated fewer than 2, Subai will be friendly and grant you 100 Luminous Dust!
- Hostile Path: If you've defeated 2 or more spirits, you'll be forced into a tough fight. Winning yields only 10 Fluorescent Dust and 2 Ornate Catalytic Hues.
Dancer
- Location: In the "Frozen Heart" area. Access it via the "Molok Station" side quest zone, head deep inside until you reach the "Glacierfall" teleport point, then search nearby.
- Help Reward: Complete a parry-based rhythm mini-game to get the "Dancer's Attire."
- Liberation/Defeat: Speak to it again, and it will ask for release. Strongly advise against fighting it before completing Subai's quest and getting the 100 Luminous Dust, as this counts as a defeat. If you fight and win, you get 3 Ornate Catalytic Hues, 1 Redraw, and a level 21 "Enhanced Counter" Rune.
Straight Stick & Grey Fur
- Location: In the "Coastal Cave" on the second continent. There's a giant furnace at the entrance; ignore it and head into the cave.
- Interaction Outcome: After talking to them, you'll have to fight these two brothers. Winning the fight doesn't give item rewards directly, but it unlocks their weapon shop (though their prices aren't exactly budget-friendly!).
