Here's the rundown on each legendary animal:

Legendary Giant Catfish (Reward: Legendary Mount)
- Conditions: Available in the base game; no specific season or time required.
- Location: Found on Okinojima (also known as Cat Island) in the Jin River. It's a haven for cat lovers! Specifically, check the northwestern coast of the island. If you start from the "Shadow House," heading in that direction should lead you to it. While this mount doesn't offer a speed boost, it's currently the only collectible legendary mount, making it quite a rare find.
Legendary Macaque (Reward: Mo Hui)
- Conditions: Nighttime. No seasonal restrictions.
- Location: Situated between Yamashiro and Iga, closer to the Iga region. Zoom in on the map above the "Xiaoye Clearing" marker; you're looking for the Enmei Shrine. Once you reach the shrine, head straight inside and search thoroughly to find the Mo Hui.
Legendary Sika Deer (Reward: Mo Hui)
- Conditions: Spring, Nighttime.
- Location: In the Kiya district of Ōkawa. This one can be a bit tricky. Start from the nearest viewpoint, Sanzen Tower. If it's your first time there, look back from the tower to see a beautiful grove of blooming cherry trees—a good landmark. During a spring night, head from the tower towards this cherry blossom area and search carefully.
Legendary Tanuki (Raccoon Dog) (Reward: Mo Hui)
- Conditions: Summer, Daytime.
- Location: Near the southernmost part of the Jin River. There's a very distinct forked road in this vicinity, making it hard to miss. If you zoom in on the map, there are two viewpoints nearby for fast travel. For easier navigation, try starting from the Raiden Estuary (a main quest location) and explore from there.
Legendary Silver Fox (Reward: Mo Hui)
- Conditions: Autumn, Nighttime.
- Location: At the Kamizai Highlands viewpoint in the Kii region. This one is very easy to find. After synchronizing the viewpoint, look directly opposite; that's the Inari Shrine where the Mo Hui is located. Visit during an autumn night and explore the shrine.
Legendary Red-crowned Crane (Reward: Mo Hui)
- Conditions: Winter, Daytime.
- Location: East of Suigetsu Lake in the Wakasa region. There isn't a close fast travel point here either, but the location itself is not hard to find. Set a marker and ride out. You might even stumble upon a horseback archery mini-game along the way. Continue along your path, keeping an eye out, and you'll find it.
