How to Pick Locks in Oblivion

Watch each pin's bounce speed and let it bounce an average of three times to get a feel for the rhythm.

  • Let each pin bounce about three times on average to sense its rhythm by observing the bounce speed.

Then wait for a fast bounce to appear.

  • Pay attention and wait for a fast bounce to occur.

Right when the next bounce starts after the fast one, hit the spacebar (because usually a slow bounce follows a fast bounce, and that's the timing we need).

  • The moment the next bounce begins after a fast bounce, press the spacebar. (Typically, a fast bounce is followed by a slow bounce, and this is the timing to aim for.)

If lockpicking gets annoying, grab the Skeleton Key.

  • This special key auto-picks locks without breaking them, and you won't need to search for lockpicks anymore.
  • Reach level 10 first, then refer to the guide above to obtain it.
